The Kenyan Cabinet has approved Phase III of the Kenya-China Project, which will see 70 Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges equipped with modern training facilities. This decision aims to fully roll out competency-based education and training (CBET) and improve graduates' employability.
- Phase III will equip 70 TVET colleges, building on Phase I (10 institutions) and Phase II (144 institutions).
- The project will train 1,190 TVET instructors to deliver CBET effectively.

The Kenyan Cabinet approved the release of Sh4.1 billion to bolster drought response efforts as 3.3 million Kenyans face acute food insecurity. The Cabinet also approved a major restructuring of the education sector, which includes merging the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), Universities Fund, TVET Funding Board, and the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) into a single authority. Additionally, the Cabinet approved Phase III of the Kenya-China Project. This project will equip 70 Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges with modern training facilities to support the rollout of competency-based education and training (CBET).
