The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has officially appointed Eng. Luka Kipchumba Kimeli as its Director General, following his service in an acting capacity since July of last year. This confirmation comes after a competitive recruitment process.

• Kimeli succeeds Kungu Ndung’u, who resigned after more than three years in the role.
• His appointment was approved by the KeNHA Board of Directors in consultation with the Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport, effective February 17, 2026.
• Kimeli brings 27 years of experience in infrastructure development and public sector leadership within the roads sub-sector.
• KeNHA, established under the Kenya Roads Act of 2007, is responsible for managing national trunk roads.
