The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced a major nationwide road maintenance program scheduled for the third quarter of the 2025/2026 financial year.
- The program will be funded by the Road Maintenance Levy Fund and will include performance-based and routine maintenance, along with spot improvements and road safety enhancements.
- More than 100 road sections across Kenya are targeted, including key routes in Nairobi, the Rift Valley, Nyanza, Western, Central, Eastern, Coast, North Eastern, and Upper Eastern regions.
- Six major roads in the Nairobi metropolitan area are earmarked for works, such as the Nairobi Southern Bypass, Kikuyu-Ndenderu-Ruaka, and Athi River-Kyumvi Road.
- KeNHA will procure contractors through an open tendering process, with compulsory pre-tender site visits in early March.
