The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has criticized Parliament for revoking the diplomatic privileges and immunities of the Global Center for Adaptation (GCA), a climate change agency that established its headquarters in Nairobi last year.

• The National Assembly nullified the privileges on Tuesday, February 24, based on a legal technicality concerning a legal notice that was not submitted by Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.
• Principal Secretary Korir Singoei stated that the decision was made without hearing from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Prime Cabinet Secretary, contrary to constitutional expectations.
• Despite the nullification, the activities of the GCA remain unaffected, and a new legal notice will be prepared and submitted to Parliament.
