Tragedy struck the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway early Wednesday when a head-on collision between a bus and a trailer claimed the lives of six people, with several others rushed to Moi Referral Hospital in Voi for treatment. Heavy rains are pounding parts of Kenya, prompting the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) to issue critical road safety advisories for motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians. Separately, a seasoned Kenya Red Cross Society volunteer, Samuel Wanyonyi Wangila, tragically lost his life while attempting a rescue in the swollen Mbagathi River.
