A petition has been filed before the National Assembly challenging the suitability of Dr Abdilahi Alawy Saggaf to serve as Chairperson of the National Land Commission (NLC).

• The petition raises concerns over potential conflict of interest due to Dr. Saggaf’s prior role as Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Agricultural Development Corporation (ADC), a major state landholder.
• The petitioners, representing the Kony community and other affected groups, seek an investigation into Dr. Saggaf’s integrity and constitutional fitness for the role.
• Concerns also include the clarity and implementation of the NLC's determinations on historical land injustices issued on December 14, 2025.
