- A key challenger, Dr. Clarence Eboso, withdrew from the race for Secretary General, leaving the incumbent, Devji Atellah, unopposed.
- Dr. Eboso cited a lack of credibility, fairness, withheld election directives, altered membership registers, and vulnerabilities in the online voting platform as reasons for his withdrawal.
- The Independent Electoral Committee (IEC) maintains the election preparations are credible, having vetted over 130 applications for elective positions.
