The trial has commenced in Kenya for six Iranian nationals accused of trafficking narcotics valued at Sh 8.2 billion. Prosecutors allege the drugs were intercepted on the high seas in a coordinated multinational operation.

• The seized narcotics were confirmed to be over one tonne of methamphetamine, valued at Sh 8.2 billion.
• The accused are Jasem Darzadeh Nia, Rahim Baksh Goharam, Hassan Baloch, Imran Baloch Mustafa, Nadeem Jadgal Abdulgani, and Emtiyaz Daryayi, facing charges presented by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
• The interception, coordinated through the Regional Coordination Operations Centre (RCOC), involved the Kenya Navy and support from the Seychelles Coast Guard, leading to the arrest on October 20, 2025, approximately 350 nautical miles off the Kenyan coast.
