The Indian Naval Ship (INS) Trikand, a guided-missile frigate, has docked in Mombasa Port for a four-day visit aimed at strengthening maritime and defence ties between India and Kenya.

• The visit, from April 7 to 10, is part of India’s MAHASAGAR initiative.
• Key figures involved include Vice Admiral K. Swaminathan of the Indian Navy and Kenyan defence officials like General Charles Kahariri, Chief of the Defence Forces of Kenya.
• During the visit, India handed over a 1.5 Tesla MRI machine, 100 INSAS rifles, and 50,000 rounds of ammunition to the Kenya Defence Forces.
