A looming strike at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) has been averted after management and workers' unions signed a return-to-work formula, agreeing to a two-week suspension of industrial action pending implementation of their deal.

• The agreement addresses unremitted statutory deductions and bank loans totaling Sh3.6 billion.
• Key parties involved include MTRH CEO Philip Kirwa and representatives from the Kenya Union of Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU), Kenya National Union of Nurses (Knun), and others.
• The deal aims to resolve issues including remittances of salary deductions, pension contributions, Sacco savings, loan repayments, and staff shortages, with additional funding expected from a supplementary budget.
