- The venture is exploring the use of fish by-products like bones and scales to create medical supplies, including collagen-based wound treatments and sutures.
- Led by founder and CEO Jack Oyugi and clinician Jeff Olwero, the project aims to address Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) and improve patient recovery.
- Vertical Lake also produces organic fertiliser from fish waste and is seeking regulatory approvals for its medical and cosmetic applications.
