The Kenyan government has removed two directors from the Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) board following its privatization, which was finalized in March 2026.

• Sharon Irungu-Asiyo and Mohamed Birik Mohamed are no longer serving as directors after the State revoked KPC’s status as a National Government entity.
• The privatization was completed through an Initial Public Offering (IPO) that sold 65 percent of KPC's shares to the public.
• This action paves the way for the new shareholders to appoint replacement board members.
