Your May 2026 electricity bill will see an increase due to three new charges introduced by the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA).
- A Foreign Exchange Fluctuation Adjustment of 110.33 cents per kilowatt hour (approx. Ksh1.10) will be added.
- EPRA, through a Gazette Notice dated May 15, also announced a Fuel Energy Cost Charge of Ksh3.06 per kWh.
- A Water Resource Management Authority levy will add another Ksh1.35 per kWh, specifically for power from large hydro plants.
