The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (Epra) has adjusted fuel prices following widespread protests that disrupted transport across Kenya.

• Diesel prices have been reduced by Sh10.06 per litre, while kerosene has increased by Sh38.60 per litre, effective May 19, 2026.
• The Deputy President Kithure Kindiki is spearheading efforts to address the fuel crisis, involving four Cabinet Secretaries: Opiyo Wandayi (Energy and Petroleum), John Mbadi (National Treasury), Davis Chirchir (Transport), and Kipchumba Murkomen (Interior).
• The Ministry of Energy defended the price review, citing sustained volatility in the global oil market due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, with the average landed cost of imported super petrol rising by 10% in April 2026.
