Kenya Power has generated Sh382 million in revenue from electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in less than three years, demonstrating rapid growth in this emerging sector.

• Monthly EV charging earnings have surged from approximately Sh873,907 in July 2023 to a peak of Sh35 million in February 2026.
• This significant revenue stream is attributed to a specialized EV charging tariff developed with the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA), offering affordable off-peak rates.
• Nairobi accounts for 71 per cent of the revenue, but adoption is expanding nationwide, highlighting the increasing mainstream reality of EV adoption in Kenya.
