The Kenyan government is set to overhaul its public sector by linking civil servants' pay and promotions directly to their performance and productivity.

• Productivity indicators will see their weighting increased from 3% to at least 50% by June 2028.
• The reforms are being spearheaded by the Office of the Head of Public Service and Human Capital Development (HOPS).
• Key resolutions were adopted at the first National Productivity and Performance Conference held between June 17 and 19 in Nairobi.
