Police in Nairobi blocked families of victims from the June 2024 Gen Z protests from reaching Parliament on Thursday to lay flowers, citing security concerns. The families demanded the arrest and removal of police officers involved in the killings of demonstrators, rejecting mere compensation as insufficient for justice.
