Jomo Kenyatta Boys High School in Nakuru County has been indefinitely closed following a fire outbreak and student unrest that destroyed the administration block and 10 classrooms.

The fire, which occurred on Sunday night, completely gutted the offices of the principal and deputy principal, the staffroom, library, and computer lab.
Students reportedly barricaded the school gates from the inside, hindering the efforts of firefighters from the Nakuru County Government Disaster Management Unit.
Several parents and residents, including Mr. Alex Njoroge, suspect the riot was motivated by students' desire to avoid upcoming examinations.
