The Kenyan government has launched a nationwide initiative to integrate Information and Communication Technology (ICT) into 10,000 junior schools, aiming to modernize education delivery under the Competency-Based Education (CBE) curriculum.

• The project involves providing one laptop and one smart board to each of the 10,382 participating schools.
• The launch was presided over by Deputy President Kithure Kindiki on July 13, with demonstrations held in schools across six counties.
• The initiative, driven by the Information and Communication Technology Authority (ICTA), also includes training over 62,000 teachers and expanding fibre optic infrastructure to bridge the digital divide.
