Dr. Oburu Oginga, an ODM party leader, has spoken out against the escalating violence in Nyanza and across Kenya, revealing his personal encounters with violent gangs.

• At a fundraising event in Siaya, goons stole Sh200,000 from him and nearly made off with another Sh3 million donation intended for the event, which was from President William Ruto, but was protected by his bodyguards.
• In another incident in Kisumu County, his helicopter was invaded, and he was harassed.
• Dr. Oginga warned that such violence threatens the possibility of free and fair elections in 2027.
