Kenyan clergy are warning that the 2027 General Election could be compromised if a growing culture of "goonism" is not addressed. Archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit has called upon the nation's leadership to take decisive action against the escalating problem of goonism that he believes is endangering Kenya's stability. Religious leaders in Ndhiwa are urging politicians in the Nyanza region to abandon violence and hired thugs in their political activities. Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has issued a stern warning against politicians and individuals funding criminal gangs whose activities disrupt peace and security in Kenya.
