The Council of Governors (CoG) has instructed County Public Service Boards to disregard a directive from the Ministry of Health to absorb Universal Health Coverage (UHC) workers. CoG Chairperson Ahmed Abdullahi stated that the Principal Secretaries lack the legal authority to mandate the absorption onto permanent and pensionable terms.

• The CoG says the Sh8.9 billion allocated for UHC workers was only for one financial year.
