Kenya's Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has deployed a newly trained 29-member Counter-Organised Immigration Crime Team (COICT) to combat human trafficking, migrant smuggling, and other cross-border organised crimes.

• This deployment marks the first dedicated counter-organised immigration crime capability in East Africa.
• The team was trained under the Kenya–UK Border Security Programme.
• Officers will be stationed at key border points to tackle sophisticated criminal networks.
