Former State House Chief of Staff Nzioka Waita will step down from his role at the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change to pursue the Machakos governorship in the 2027 General Election.

• Waita will leave his position as Managing Director for Africa Advisory at the Tony Blair Institute at the end of September.
• He intends to seek elective office, marking his second bid for the Machakos governorship after losing in 2022.
• Waita will continue with the institute in a part-time capacity as a Strategic Advisor for Africa.
