• Conflicting reports come from the State Department of Diaspora Affairs, which claims he is alive and 'in camp' in Ukraine, and a Russian national who stated he was "missing in action" after signing a contract to join the Russian Army on October 25, 2025.
• His wife, Grace Gathoni, has received photographs of his body from Ukrainian authorities, but also reported WhatsApp messages from January stating he had to "serve his entire contract before we release him."
