A Chuka University law student, Hesbon Mauti Thomas, has denied a charge of publishing offensive information after allegedly posting a controversial video on TikTok targeting President William Ruto and his son, George Ruto.

• The alleged offence occurred on June 25.
• The student, who is an orphan sponsored by a church, was released on a KSh 5,000 cash bail.
• The case will be mentioned on August 18, 2026, for pre-trial directions.
