Religious leaders in Homa Bay County have strongly condemned the recent outbreak of violence targeting proponents of the Linda Mwananchi Movement, warning that the continued use of 'goons' could lead to anarchy.

• Six youth were arrested following attacks on the Linda Mwananchi Movement Co-ordinator Samuel Nyauke, human rights defender Evance Oloo, and two others.
• The violence escalated with protests, bonfires, road blockades, looting, and the destruction of business premises.
• Bishop Abrahams Wanda Odongo of the Interfaith Network Nyanza region and Abdul Masud, SUPKEM Secretary in Homa Bay County, urged residents to embrace peace, political tolerance, and shun leaders who incite violence.
