EACC Reports Widespread Corruption in Police, KRA, and Government Institutions - August 2025
The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has released its 2024 corruption survey, revealing a dire situation in Kenya with widespread corruption deeply embedded in daily life. The report ranks Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) officers as the second most corrupt group, following the police service, which continues to top the list. The Ministry of Interior, under which the police service falls, has been identified as the most corrupt government institution overall. Human rights activists are demanding the disbandment of the National Police Service due to these damning revelations, with an alarming 25 percent of Kenyans facing demands for bribes when seeking government services.
