The President announced that one thousand hospitals had their licenses revoked for fraudulently attempting to benefit from the SHA. In addition to license revocation, hospital owners found to have fraudulently benefited from the scheme will be prosecuted. President Ruto has affirmed the government's unwavering commitment to legally prosecuting individuals involved in the SHA rip-off scandal to ensure accountability for the misuse of public funds. This move signals a significant crackdown on corruption within the healthcare sector. Separately, former Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiangi has publicly criticized the operational structure of the Social Health Authority (SHA).
