African Exports to China Rise to Sh512.5bn; Kenyan Meat Processor QMP Expands - September 2025
African exports to China increased by 10.2 percent year-on-year to Sh512.5 billion ($39.66 billion) in the first seven months of 2025. This surge was driven by Beijing's removal of tariffs on various products, which significantly boosted agricultural exports from several African nations, including Kenya. In parallel, Kenyan meat processor QMP has announced its expansion into Gulf countries and the Democratic Republic of Congo. A new wave of US investment into Kenya is also expected to create up to 1,000 jobs.
