Valentine Mghoi and Absa Tug of War Team Dominate at Interbank Games - September 2025
At the 39th edition of the Interbank Games in Nairobi, Absa Bank's Valentine Mghoi successfully defended her title in the women’s 50m backstroke. Known as the 'Backstroke Queen', she set a new meet record of 49.15, marking her fourth consecutive win in the event. Mghoi also secured an additional gold in the women's 50m freestyle with a time of 44.87. In other events, the Absa Bank Kenya women's tug of war team is on the verge of securing its fourth consecutive crown. Led by captain Christine Andenga, the team has dominated the competition with 2-0 victories against all its rivals.
