Kenya Expands Transport and Tourism Services with New Rail, Air, and Safari Offerings - September 2025
Kenya has launched several new transport and tourism services to boost connectivity and travel experiences. A new Mombasa Commuter Rail Service was launched, featuring a 13.8-kilometre rehabilitated metre-gauge line connecting Mombasa town to the Madaraka Express SGR at Miritini, aiming to decongest the city. In the tourism sector, Uber Safari has launched a new service allowing users to book 4x4 safari Land Cruisers, which is expected to streamline operations and address challenges like last-minute cancellations. Additionally, Gulf-based carrier Flydubai is expanding its presence by launching new flights to Nairobi and increasing flight frequencies on its Mombasa route to strengthen connectivity between Kenya and Dubai.
