Flydubai is significantly expanding its presence in Kenya by launching new flights to Nairobi and increasing frequencies on its Mombasa route. This move by the Gulf-based carrier aims to strengthen connectivity between Kenya and Dubai.

• Beginning October 15, Flydubai will operate four weekly flights to Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
• The airline will also upgrade its Mombasa service to seven weekly flights, increasing its total weekly flights into Kenya to 11.
• Return fares from Dubai start at AED 4,500 (approximately KSh 159,000) for business class and AED 1,700 (KSh 60,000) for economy.

Kenya has launched a new Mombasa Commuter Rail Service, a 13.8-kilometre rehabilitated metre-gauge line connecting Mombasa town to the Madaraka Express SGR at Miritini, aiming to decongest the city and boost trade.

• The service has a daily capacity of up to 4,000 passengers.
• President William Ruto unveiled the new rail link.
• SGR passenger numbers rose from 183,359 in May 2025 to 226,717 in June, with revenues increasing from KSh 325.9 million to KSh 373.9 million.
