EACC moves to recover Sh790m Kisumu prison land - July 2026
The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) is pursuing the recovery of 7.6 acres of land belonging to the Kenya Prisons Service in Kisumu's Milimani area, which it alleges was illegally converted to private ownership. EACC CEO Abdi Mohamud has arrived in Kisumu to oversee the recovery of disputed land worth Sh790 million. Meanwhile, the Kwale County Government has officially joined the legal battle of Mteza Mbuguni residents who are challenging the issuance of over 4,000 land title deeds they claim were granted unlawfully.
