A Nairobi Court has granted a **15-day detention** for two police officers, accused of shooting an unarmed protester during recent demonstrations. The decision comes as the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) wraps up its investigation.

• The officers, Vincent Kiprono and Masinde Barasa, were presented before Senior Principal Magistrate Benmark Ekhubi.
• Prosecuting counsel Victor Owiti reached an agreement with defense lawyers for a shorter remand of **15 days** instead of the **21 days** requested by IPOA.
• The accused are being investigated for shooting a hawker who is currently in Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) Intensive Care Unit.
