The investigation into the death of influencer Albert Ojwang while in police custody has led to Deputy Inspector General Eliud Lagat recording a statement with the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA).

• Ojwang was killed on June 7 at the Central Police Station in Nairobi.
• Lagat, who stepped aside from his duties amid public outcry, has been questioned for over three hours regarding the case.
• Total of 20 police officers have recorded statements, with some detained for two weeks pending further investigation.
