Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has criticized Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja following confessions from goons allegedly paid to cause disturbances during a protest on June 17.

• Goons reported being paid as little as Ksh 50 to incite violence during the demonstration.
• Babu Owino accused Sakaja of hiring goons and betraying the residents of Nairobi.
• Owino claimed that youths and vendors were harassed and intimidated under the governor's orders, challenging Sakaja’s leadership.
