Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has stated that Kenya will not be allowed to descend into anarchy following violent nationwide protests that occurred on June 26.

• At least ten people died and over 400 were injured during the unrest, which Kindiki described as “the most violent and anarchist day in Kenya’s history.”
• Kindiki criticized certain religious leaders and diplomats for allegedly inciting unrest among youths.
• He emphasized that while the government will uphold civil liberties, it will not permit chaos in the country.
