Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro has been removed from Kenya's influential Budget and Appropriations Committee in a reshuffle by the Kenya Kwanza Alliance. This move is seen as a crackdown on lawmakers critical of President William Ruto's administration, following Nyoro's vocal criticism of economic policies.

• Nyoro will now serve on the Diaspora and Migrant Workers Committee.
• The reshuffle, tabled by Majority Whip Sylvanus Osoro, also saw other changes, including Mathioya MP Edwin Gichuki Mugo taking Nyoro’s spot in the budget team.
• Nyoro had previously accused the administration of unconstitutionally securitizing the fuel levy to borrow Sh175 billion without parliamentary approval.
