Former Baringo Central MP Sammy Mwaita has been charged with land fraud regarding a Ksh150 million scheme along Mai Mahiu Road in Nairobi West. The Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (ODPP) confirmed the charges after his appearance at the Milimani Law Courts.

• Mwaita is accused of fabricating two title deeds 24 years ago to defraud individuals of two prime land parcels.
• The ODPP stated that Mwaita, a former land commissioner, used forged deeds to register the land without the original owners' knowledge.
• He faces charges including conspiracy to commit a felony, making a document without authority, and abuse of office.
• Mwaita and co-accused, Brian Kiptoo Kiplangat, were released on a Ksh10 million bond or a Ksh2 million cash bail.
