Kericho Governor Eric Mutai successfully evaded impeachment for the second time after the Senate voted to stop proceedings against him. In a contentious session, 26 Senators voted to save Mutai, while 16 Senators voted to proceed with his impeachment, with only one Senator abstaining.

• The final vote was "ayes" 16, "neighs" 26, and one abstention, as ruled by Speaker Amason Kingi.
• Governor Mutai denied allegations of misappropriating Ksh351 million from the National Agricultural Value Chain Development Programme (NAVCDP), stating the actual amount was Ksh281 million.
• He also refuted claims of involvement in a Ksh14.9 million procurement fraud and stated that appointments were handled by the County Public Service Board, not him.
