- The resolution follows a bilateral engagement in Nairobi on July 30 and July 31, 2025, where President Ruto and President Museveni urged their trade ministers to address the issues.
- Eight agreements were signed during the meeting, covering areas like trade, tourism, mining, agriculture, and the development of the Greater Busia metro.
