The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has issued a new advisory for motorists on the Nakuru–Eldoret Highway near the Eveready roundabout after a sinkhole reappeared, causing fresh cracks and fears of a wider collapse. This re-emergence occurred just 48 hours after initial repairs.

• The sinkhole first appeared on Wednesday, September 4, disrupting traffic for hours on the busy Nairobi–Eldoret Highway.
• The affected part of the road has been closed by Police, leading to heavy traffic congestion.
• KeNHA confirmed the sinkhole was caused by water seepage and geological activity, and is working with other government agencies and geologists to investigate.
