Safaricom has launched two new initiatives, Ofa Ya Boda Boda and Bundle Ya Dere, to support ride-hailing drivers and boda boda riders in Kenya with affordable connectivity, fuel discounts, and financial assistance. These propositions aim to alleviate the rising operational costs faced by individuals in the transport sector.

• These propositions offer affordable voice and data bundles, free access to navigation apps, subsidized insurance covers, and financial literacy training.
• Developed in partnership with Vivo Energy Kenya, Bundle Ya Dere will soon offer drivers fuel discounts on Shell FuelSave Unleaded and V-Power every Friday at all Shell outlets.
• The transport sector significantly contributes to Kenya’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), accounting for 4.4% in the fiscal year 2024, with over 1.4 million registered motorcycles generating an estimated KES 1 billion daily.
