Kenya is strategically positioning itself to significantly expand its share of the global nut market, leveraging its participation in Expo 2025 Osaka to showcase its growing macadamia sector and attract further international investment.

• Kenya is currently the third-largest global producer of macadamia nuts, contributing about 13 percent of the world's supply.
• The sector generated Sh7.6 billion in 2024, an increase from Sh6.9 billion the previous year.
• Exports reached 51,200 tonnes in 2024, with major markets including the United States, Netherlands, Germany, Vietnam, China, and Japan, accounting for over 86 percent of sales.
