The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has launched a new Electronic Rental Income Tax System (eRITS) to simplify the payment and filing of rental taxes for landlords. This initiative aims to streamline tax compliance and encourages property owners to update their details via the new system.

KRA Commissioner General Humphrey Wattanga announced the rollout of eRITS, accessible via its dedicated portal or the eCitizen public Portal.
The system is designed to make it “easier for landlords to file and pay rental taxes” and to manage property details.
This development follows KRA's recent announcement to introduce over 10,000 agents nationwide to assist taxpayers with services like registration, filing, and payments, boosting service points beyond the current 136.
