The Kenyan government has outlined enhanced monitoring and accountability measures for the National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement (NYOTA) programme, ensuring proper utilization of funds. Principal Secretary for the State Department for Youth Affairs and Creative Economy, Fikirini Jacobs, confirmed the implementation of consultants and a robust audit system.

• Fikirini Jacobs stated that youth applying for the fund must already possess a business idea and undergo training.
• The NYOTA programme is a five-year initiative, funded by the World Bank, targeting youth unemployment and income insecurity.
• The program will provide Ksh50,000 grants to 70 young people selected from each of Kenya's 1,450 wards.
• Priority for selection will go to youth whose education ended at high school, with those possessing higher education or college degrees (totaling 275,000 applicants) being ineligible.
• Successful applicants will be chosen through a randomization process, with 200,000 individuals initially shortlisted.
