Josephat Kabeabea, the Board Chair of the Anti-Counterfeit Authority (ACA), is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday at the Milimani Anti-Corruption Court on multiple corruption charges, as announced by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).

• Kabeabea faces charges including receiving a bribe and acquisition of proceeds of crime, with allegations of demanding Sh5 million from Hongda Automotive Limited, eventually receiving Sh150,000.
• The EACC stated that Kabeabea was arrested on November 14 following allegations of bribery, extortion of investors, and unexplained wealth.
• Investigators verified Kabeabea's visits to Hongda Automotive’s premises on November 10 and 11, and retrieved CCTV footage and witness statements; an earlier incident in October 2025 involved a demand of Sh10 million and receipt of Sh8 million from UNIPRO Limited.
