Govt Advances Rironi-Mau Summit Highway Project; KeNHA to Acquire Land for Nyali-Kilifi Road - November 2025

President William Ruto announced that the dualling of the 170km Rironi-Naivasha-Mau Summit road will commence on November 28, 2025. This decision followed a State House meeting with the President of China Communications Construction Company (CCCC). Separately, the National Land Commission (NLC) has announced adjustments for the construction of the Nyali Bridge-Mtwapa-Kwa Kadzengo-Kilifi Road, with 19 new land parcels to be acquired on behalf of the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA). On another matter of land use, MPs will have the final say on a plan to convert 6,700 hectares of forest into human settlements due to encroachment.
