Award-winning senior videographer Rashid Mukoya Idi of the Standard Group died on Wednesday, December 25, after collapsing at work and being rushed to a Nairobi hospital. Just two weeks prior, Head of Radio Mayienga Festus Amimo of the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) also passed away.

Mukoya joined the Standard Group in 2013 and won the 2016 CNN MultiChoice African Journalist of the Year Award.
Festus Amimo was known for hosting the popular Mayienga FM morning show (Gari Mokinyi).
While the cause of Mukoya's death is unknown, Amimo's passing was sudden, occurring hours after a social media tribute.
