Kisumu County settles Korea hospital bills, to repatriates body of Dr. George Rae

The Kisumu County Government is arranging the repatriation of senior health advisor Dr. George Rae's body from Seoul, South Korea, following his death on December 26, 2025. The county has settled all associated costs.
- Total hospital bills of KRW 59,003,000 (approximately Ksh. 5.2 million) and a mortuary bill of KRW 672,000 (approximately Ksh. 60,000) were paid.
- Dr. Rae was a key advisor to Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o and the former CEO of Jaramogi Oginga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH).
- The body will depart Seoul on Monday, January 5, 2026, arriving in Nairobi on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, via Emirates Airlines.
